Symposia
The Women in Global Health Research Initative hosts an annual symposium to convene female leaders in global health research. Our inaugural symposium in 2015 was held at Weill Cornell Medicine. The goal of this inaugural symposium was to gain consensus on the major challenges facing women in global health, and to identify strategies to begin addressing these challenges. Our symposium in 2019 highlighted research on women’s global health issues and had a dedicated session to establish policies and programs around the world to retain women in academic global health careers.
We are now hosting a scientific conference on April 28, 2020 highlighting new research on women’s global health issues. Abstracts which focus on the following topics will be given priority:
- Research in pregnant women, adolescents, and other special populations
- Gender-based violence
- Sex differences in research
- Women’s health and non-communicable diseases
We are accepting abstracts until February 28, 2020 at 5:00pm EST.
