'Ecole Maternelle et Primaire de GHESKIO' GHESKIO's Kindergarten and Primary School

The GHESKIO kindergarten and primary school opened its doors in October 2010 on the GHESKIO campus.  The school, called “Ecole Maternelle et Primaire de GHESKIO”, teaches children from six to twelve years old whose former schools were destroyed by the earthquake.  In addition to the required basic subjects, children learn about health, hygiene and cholera prevention and treatment.  Children also have access to necessary clinical care, clean water, and nutrition.

Recognizing the success of the school and the important role it is playing in the present and future lives of its students, the Principality of Monaco pledged to support the construction and operation of a permanent elementary school on the GHESKIO campus. Construction of the new school was completed this fall and the first classes of eager students are underway.
