Dr. Radhika Sundararajan M.D., Ph.D., was one of five to be awarded the 2019 Kellen Junior Faculty Fellowship. This annual award provides research support to remarkable female junior faculty at Weill Cornell, allowing them to establish a scientific track record leading to success in research and promotion to a higher rank.

Dr. Sundararajan is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and member of the Center for Global Health. Her research focuses on developing strategies to leverage the role of traditional practitioners to improve engagement in HIV care in endemic regions.

Dr. Sundararajan's project is "A novel approach to community-based HIV testing with traditional healers in Mwanza, Tanzania". This pilot research will build upon her NIH-funded work in southwestern Uganda, focused on improving community engagement with HIV services among populations that utilize traditional healers.
