Extending a Warm Welcome to Dr. Radhika Sundararajan

Earlier this month, Dr. Radhika Sundararajan joined Weill Cornell Medical College’s faculty, as Assistant Professor with the Center for Global Health and the Division of Emergency Medicine.

After graduating from SUNY Binghamton with a BA in Anthropology, she was awarded the William Penn Fellowship to attend the Ph.D. program in Anthropology at University of Pennsylvania. While conducting her dissertation fieldwork, Dr. Sundararajan observed the influence of culture on health behavior prompting her to reconsider her career path. She then attended New York University Medical School. As an Emergency Medicine resident at Harvard she completed collaborative work in Uganda, examining barriers to care for Ugandan children with severe malaria.

Dr. Sundararajan’s current research interests consist of developing strategies to leverage the role of traditional practitioners to improve engagement in HIV care in endemic regions.
