Celebrating Global Health

This month, Weill Cornell Medicine and the Center for Global Health celebrated the generous supporters of the Center for Global Health’s programs in Tanzania and Haiti, and the successes of Weill Bugando School of Medicine. Weill Bugando opened in Mwanza, Tanzania in September 2003 was named Weill Bugando in recognition of Joan and Sanford Weill’s generous support. Since 2003, one thousand Tanzanian physicians have graduated from Weill Bugando. At the celebration, speakers included Sanford I. Weill, Dean Augustine M.K. Choi, Dr. Daniel Fitzgerald, Dr. Jean William Pape, and recent graduates of Weill Bugando.
