10 Year Antiretroviral Therapy Study - New York Times Feature

In a recent article from the New York Times Dr. Margaret L. McNairy from the Center for Global Health highlighted the promising results of the ten year HIV/AIDS study conducted at GHESKIO in Haiti.  Dr. McNairy pointed out in the article that the 10-year mortality rate found in the study was roughly the same as the 10-year mortality rate found among gay men who began antiretroviral triple therapy when it first began in the United States in the 1990s. Dr. McNairy concluded by stating that “this proves the long-term sustainability of efforts to provide AIDS treatment in developing nations.”
