Symposia

The Women in Global Health Research Initative hosts an annual symposium to convene female leaders in global health research. Our inaugural symposium in 2015 was held at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. The goal of this inaugural symposium was to gain consensus on the major challenges facing women in global health, and to identify strategies to begin addressing these challenges. Our symposium in 2016 focused on overcoming barriers specific to women researchers in resource-limited settings.

We are now hosting a scientific conference on April 24, 2018, which will focus on evidence-based interventions to promote the retention and ascent of women to leadership in global health. We are accepting two types of abstracts: 1)Programmatic/Scientific: Interventions and programs designed to retain and promote female leaders in global health; 2)Scientific: global health research, with particular consideration given to research on women's health. We are accepting abstracts until January 31, 2018 at 5:00pm EST.
